1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GeoBox's smart addressing platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

GeoBox provides a smart addressing platform that enables users to:

  • Create and manage precise geocodes for locations in East Africa
  • Verify and validate physical addresses
  • Share location information with delivery services and businesses
  • Access our API for integration with third-party applications
  • Participate in our field verification network

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account
  • Not share your account with others

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

  • Submit false or misleading address information
  • Use the service for illegal or fraudulent purposes
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or scrape our platform
  • Overload our systems with excessive API requests
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. Geocode Creation and Verification

When you create a geocode:

  • You certify that the location information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You may choose to make geocodes public or private
  • Public geocodes may be used by other platform users
  • You grant us a license to use your geocodes to improve our services
  • Verified geocodes receive higher trust scores and priority in searches

6. Field Verification and Evidence

If you participate as a field agent:

  • You must provide authentic photographic evidence
  • You represent that you have the right to capture and submit photos
  • You will not trespass on private property without permission
  • You may receive compensation for verified submissions
  • False or fraudulent verifications may result in account suspension

7. API Access and Usage

For API users:

  • API access requires a valid API key
  • Usage is subject to rate limits based on your plan
  • You must not exceed your allocated request quota
  • API keys must be kept confidential and secure
  • We reserve the right to revoke API access for violations

8. Payment and Subscriptions

For paid services:

  • Fees are charged in advance on a recurring basis
  • All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method automatically
  • Failure to pay may result in service suspension

9. Intellectual Property

GeoBox and its content are protected by intellectual property laws. The GeoBox name, logo, and all related marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.

10. Data Accuracy and Liability

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all geocodes and addresses are error-free. You use location data at your own risk. We are not liable for:

  • Missed deliveries due to incorrect geocodes
  • Damages resulting from inaccurate location information
  • Third-party use or misuse of geocodes
  • Service interruptions or downtime

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoBox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold GeoBox harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your use of our services.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you violate these terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the service ceases immediately
  • We may delete your account and data
  • You remain liable for any outstanding fees
  • Certain provisions of these terms survive termination

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kampala, Uganda.
